For the Girls: Why We’re Giving Back This October

At Morning Light, community has always been at the heart of what we do.

This October, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we wanted to use our little corner of the world to do something that goes beyond hydration.

From October 1–31, Morning Light is donating 20% of every bottle sold to Young Survival Coalition (YSC), an organization dedicated to supporting young adults affected by breast cancer.

Here’s a little more about why we chose YSC, the work they do, and where your support is going.

Meet Young Survival Coalition

Young Survival Coalition was founded in 1998 by young women who had been diagnosed with breast cancer before age 40 and saw a major gap: young adults weren't adequately represented in the breast cancer research, resources and communities available to them.

More than 25 years later, supporting this community remains at the center of YSC's work.

Young adults facing breast cancer can encounter challenges that look different from those diagnosed later in life—from fertility and family planning to relationships, careers, finances, body image, early menopause and navigating life during and after treatment.

YSC exists to make sure they don't have to navigate those experiences alone.

More Than Awareness. Real Support.

What drew us to YSC was their focus on community and connection—two things that mean a lot to us at Morning Light.

YSC creates opportunities for young adults affected by breast cancer to find people who understand what they're going through, while providing access to education, resources and support designed specifically around the young breast cancer experience.

Their work includes community events and peer connection, educational resources, advocacy and research efforts, along with programs that address the realities of life during treatment, survivorship and living with metastatic breast cancer.

It's support that extends far beyond a single month.

Why Morning Light Is Giving Back

Morning Light was built around the idea that the little things we do every day matter.

Drinking your water. Moving your body. Showing up for yourself. Showing up for your people.

And while our usual job is making one of those little daily habits a lot more fun, we wanted October to mean a little more.

Young Survival Coalition's emphasis on community immediately resonated with us. There is incredible power in having people around you who understand, support you and remind you that you aren't navigating life alone.

Girls supporting girls. Community supporting community.

That's something we're very happy to get behind. 💗

Where Your Money Is Going

Throughout October, 20% of every Morning Light bottle sold will be donated to Young Survival Coalition.

Funds raised for YSC help support its work for young adults affected by breast cancer, including free community events, education, advocacy and research efforts.

So whether you're restocking your usual, trying Morning Light for the first time, or getting both flavors because choosing is overrated, your purchase is doing a little something extra this month.

For the Girls

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an opportunity to talk, learn, support and show up.

We're incredibly grateful that our Morning Light community gets to play a small part in supporting the work Young Survival Coalition does all year long.

More water. More community. More good.

Thank you for being part of it.

xoxo,
Sage and The Morning Light Team
